Report
by the U.S. Labor Dept released in 2009
highlighted Singapore with
the steepest productivity decline, and lowest increase in
hourly wages in 2007 – 2008 among 17 developed countries in
the world. Singapore also ranked second highest increase in
manufacturing cost and manufacturing hour.
On shore, the Singapore
Economic Strategies Committee recommended that Singapore
should target
higher productivity growth of 2% to 3% each year to stay competitive in
the international market.
Naturally,
many
businesses would think to increase productivity would
be to
invest in state-of-the-art equipments and machineries and spend more to
up the skills of employees. Before your company makes

billion.
